About Us
The Massachusetts Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors is the largest construction trade association in the Commonwealth, representing over 450 local general contractor, subcontractor, supplier and associate companies. These companies employ more than 25,000 men and women throughout Massachusetts.
ABC’s Massachusetts Chapter has spent over 50 years fulfilling its founders’ mission of promoting and advancing the merit construction industry along with the principle of free enterprise. ABC member companies subscribe to the merit construction philosophy that all construction contracts, both public and private, should be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, regardless of labor affiliation. Through full and open competition, taxpayers and consumers receive the most value for their construction dollar, and all workers, 80 percent of whom are not union members, are provided equal opportunities to take part in the state’s construction work.
ABC is committed to providing its members with quality services and programs that help them operate more efficiently and effectively. ABC’s education programs are known nationwide for training the finest craftspeople in construction. Our members’ safety records stand high above industry averages. Our contractors are known for their flexibility, their teamwork, their competitive prices and the professional excellence demonstrated by the hundreds of successfully completed projects throughout New England and the country.
Mission Statement
Associated Builders and Contractors of Massachusetts believes that the common good is best served by an open and competitive marketplace; that every company, regardless of its affiliations, has the right to compete free of coercion by any group or organization; and that every person must have the opportunity and right to work. Toward this end, ABC’s mission is to foster an environment that ensures our members and their employees the ability to grow and prosper.
